Hello,
I'm Steffen Pietsch and organize the GERMAN version of the Free Esperanto
Course on the internet.
I also have very good connections to the Berlin office of the
German Esperanto-Youth (GEJ = Germana Esperanto Junularo). If you like
written material I can give You the address from the local GEJ or
from the Esperanto-organization of Your home-country.
Possibly You know that Esperanto is an international plan-language
(plan: means that it was planned and created). The language is spoken
by (some persons say so and others so) 3 till 10 million people.
Because Esperanto isn't the natural language of anybody, its neutral and
nobody has an advantage or misadvantage.
The language was created in 1887 by L.L Zamenhof.
In the beginning a lot of working people spoke it but now more
intellectuals speak it. In Germany we had to holes in devoloping.
First the WWII when Hitler denied the permission.
Second under Stalin in the eastern block where Esperantists had to
suffer under oppression.
What I can do with Esperanto:
write with letter-friends
take part and meetings
travel with the "pasporta Servo" a sevice
wich offers free (travel)-beds all over the world
if you speak Esperanto with your guest-parents.

The language ESPERANTO:
It's INTERNATIONAL, it want to help to overcome speaking barriers with an
easy-to-learn-language as second language for everybody.
An easy grammar without irregullarities, a basic wordsystem with many
international-known words and an excellent word-development-system want
to help that You have not to learn for years till you see a success.
Yet after a short time you can communicate without problems and books.
